What is the collective wisdom as to an "ideal" quench spec for an Olds 215?

Haha..no aluminum rods Art....incidentally, I have a '74 Jensen Healey as well that has gone through a number of drivetrain iterations, 9" Ford, Wilwood brakes, etc. Ironically, never ran a BOR based motor in that car, even though I bought it with that intention many years ago.

In JH., current eng./trans ? Car weight ? I have a "bolt-in" 8" Ford RE. for my JH.( Jensen Jackal). I don't trust it with my scheduled Mopar 340. Has the Huffaker body kit, so big tires. WAG. is 2,300 lbs. without me.
Onward, Art.

I last ran a 406 SBC with a T5 in the JH. It has been sitting in a garage for about 15 years now....too many projects. I set up the 9" as a bolt in affair as well, using the factory lower trailing arms with custom uppers arms (just simple swedged tubes) at the stock mounting points . Stock front suspension with Wilwood brakes. I used a Mopar A-body drum brake hub (5x4.5") to fit the JH spindle (very close to a direct swap, same inner and outer bearings) with 12.19" rotors, Dynalite calipers. Ran the same brakes on the 9", the car stopped very well, probably around 2400lbs, although never put in on a scale. I lost interest in the car along the way (had a '67 Ferrari 330GT at one point and the full roof/elliptical tube chassis rigidity made me less enamored with roadster experience) and it's been drivetrain-less since. I have an LT1 (GenII that is), some LS engines and an unused T56 that can make there way to the JH, but need to focus on some other projects first. Getting older, too much stuff that I will never get to, need to thin things out.

I will likely go with alum. Vette rear end in JH. Dana 44 = strong enough. Turbo Supra 5 spd,(direct bolt to SBM).
