Crower has zero cores and no idea when / if they will get more. Alternatives to the 50232?

I just called and attempted to cancel my order (placed at beginning of march) as a result. Of course the one guy in accounting doesn't appear to be available. Hopefully this gets resolved, or I'll just call the CC company and have them deal with it.

What else out there from other manufacturers would you recommend?
Something equivalent to the 50232 - I could even go a little softer and get something equivalent to a 50230.

What would you suggest?

Dave, call Woody at the Wedge shop. He has Erson cams I think. Or you could have Delta Cams in Tacoma,WA regrind your cam to those specs.

Give Geoff at Colt Cams a call.
My cam grinder of choice. He's a fountain of knowledge and has never disappointed. No matter how strange the request!
He's just down the road from me so if he needs a core cam I'd be happy to deliver one.
Check him out on line or give him a call @ 604-856-3571
Cheers
Fred

P.S. he's a busy dude so be prepared for a bit of a wait.

Dave,

I've got Crower 50231, 50232 and 50233 cams here, though after a quick pass through the parts stash I couldn't find the 50233. They are all new. Let me know if you still need one.

Dave, Schneider cams. They grind cams for TA who has 215, 300 and 340 cams. This one looks good:

Speaking of cams, I need to select a roller cam for my new Buick 346cid300. Wouldn't mind some input. I won't be racing it (much) but I'd like to be able to hit 7K now and then. Don't really care if it's dropping off the power curve at that point though, it'd be more about not shifting in a curve while driving. Otherwise I'd like it to be very driveable and get fair to good fuel economy. Not TOO concerned about optimizing the power output but want to take advantage of the heads, compression and exhaust to whatever extent I can without making big compromises elsewhere. With the displacement and the blower, power will not really be a concern.

I've decided on a roller cam to avoid lobe wear issues and special oil requirements. I'm leaning heavily towards solid lifters for the redline.

Specs:
TA/Rover heads, unported, Ti valves 1.9"/1.6" Beehive springs, 135# seated, 350#@.500" lift, valve angle:13˚
10.5:1 static compression, hemispheric dish slipper skirted pistons, Carillo rods. Rod/piston assy about 1100-1200gr.
32" equal length headers/header mufflers.
Eaton M114 blower @ 5psi. I haven't built the intake yet but can expect the runners to be between 4 and 7" long and can put a wall between 5 and 7 to assist distribution.

I've been thinking the stock grinds used on the LS engines might be a good starting point. I'd like to hear what you guys think.

TA sells a roller cam for the 300, don't know about the availability. Crower doesn't have cores. Don't know who else might.

Jim

Looks like I might need the intake to close around 60 abdc, should giva a DCR around 7.6

Appreciate all the feedback guys!
Going to follow up with Dan Jones to see if he can help out, or I'll start following up with the others on the list.

Thanks!
