timing tape or timing tag - 3.9L rover V8

Just had my distributor rebuilt - I've been advised to set timing at 18 deg before tdc. My flywheel has no marking - has anyone used timing tape or timing tab on these engines? Source? Thanks

You should be able to use a dial-back timing light.
