Buick 215 300 weight for aluminum heads and intake vs iron counterparts
For all you Buick fans that can not get ahold of all of those 1964 Buick aluminum heads and was wondering the weight difference, I hope this helps.

Aluminum has about 1/3 the density of cast iron, so aluminum bare heads and intake will weigh about 1/3 as much as cast iron.

Actually the aluminum heads are 17lbs lighter than the cast iron ones. Aluminum heads and intake instead of cast iron makes a difference of 50lbs on the nose. (300)

I know of a couple of guys running cast 300/340 heads. Bigger valves. I was told the pair of heads adds just under 40 pounds to the engine. Only ever held the aluminum 300 heads.
