Whats the taper ? Buy the right reamer.

Specifically, ball joint taper for Mustang II. Not all ball joints have same taper, for instance Toyota is 1.2"/ft. "Others" are 1.5"/ft., but which ? Reamer from "Speedway Motors" is a quality piece. Negative spiral on flutes is excellent for preventing grabbing of reamer by the material,(a function of the taper). Thanks, roverman.

I googled Mustang II ball joint taper and came up with 2" per foot which is 10° taper

Thanks Kevin. CPP- the supplier doesn't know the angle. The "math" says 1.44"/ft. Obviously in this case a 2"/ft reamer, will not work. I think I can fudge with a 1.5"/ft.,(somewhat common). Cheers, roverman.

Sorry about that, you are correct
I accidentally looked at the wrong speedway motors reamer, the Mustang II ball joint is 7° which would be 1.5"-ft nominal

Seemingly, "nobody" local has these. I ordered from Speedway today. All this "stuff" better work ! Cheers, roverman.

Your lucky that you would even think they would have it locally
Where I live I just assume nobody has anything and seldom wrong about that.
You should be ok with stuff matching up since Mustang II suspension is probably the most commonly swapped suspension there is

Kevin, well maybe not this forum. There is a lot of rehashing oem british front suspension. I felt the JH parts were too weak to be trustworthy. Just about every mod to this car, adds weight. Not my preferance, but probably necessary. Not clever to build a car that is a little, too light when you need it most. Onward, roverman.
