TR4 brake and chassis upgrades?

I found a TR4 chassis to use under my Morris Minor panel truck. Since I am wanting bigger motor than stock, bigger brakes are wanted as well. What are my options? I would also like to switch to 5 lug if possible, are there any options available for the front? Thanks

Also, how much HP can the stock TR4 rear axle handle?

You do mean the TR45 with the straight axle, not the TR4A with the irs. The diff mounting on the irs car needs some strengthening, even as stock.

So, axle ... if you do a search in the Search box top right... on ........Torque TR4 axle..... you will get lots of hits.
See for example the last post here [forum.britishv8.org]

A drop-in upgrade is the R200 lsd from Richard Good [www.goodparts.com]. I put one in my TR6.

Likewise search for ... TR4 brakes.....
Some builders keep the brakes standard. A servo would be a start, the TR4 came without one.

And again for .... TR4 5 lug... here's one of many hits [forum.britishv8.org]

Yes the chassis I am going to use is the straight axle. I did a quick search for brakes and did not really see much but can look again when I have more time

The stock 16P calipers will fit the TR4 and TR6 with 10/75" discs, so if you search on TR6 brakes that will give you more options.
Not sure about interchangeability at the rear but the fronts do 80% of the work,.so the gain to be made at the rear is not that great imho, there it's more matter of retaining balance.
