5 Lug Wheels
First time posting and I am sure this has been discussed ad nauseum. I am in the process of a 5.0 conversion and would like a little more tire. I want to go to 5 lugs and 15-16 inch wheels. What is the best way ti do this? Stock front and rear for now.

Re: 5 Lug Wheels
Please review this thread with regards to the 5 lug front hub conversion. Alot more options with 5 lug, It really helped with my conversion.

Re: 5 Lug Wheels
What kind of car? I did a 5 lug on the TR8 because it solved more problems for less money than keeping it stock. TR8 bolt pattern wheels are few and expensive in between. Ford 5 lug are cheap and everywhere. TR8 uses tiny front wheel bearings. TR8 rear ends as a rule, should automatically be replaced with a Ford limited slip disc brake rear end. So take all that into consideration, and I kept the ford bolt pattern in the rear and swapped in SD1 front redrilled uprights and hubs. How you do this is going to depend on what kind of car you are building.

Re: 5 Lug Wheels
I used 1972 Chevelle hubs brought off of ebay. Same bearings as the MG spindle. Just machined some off the inner side to match the MG bearing spacing. Then machined the GM seal lip to match the MG seal. 5 lug 4.75 spacing to go with my cut down s10 rear end. Hope this helps

Re: 5 Lug Wheels
No, If you look at the MGB front hub there is a dual bolt pattern for wheel and disk brake. The wire wheel rear hub can have the spindle cut off and redrilled for 5 lug. 4x4.5 is same circle as 5x4.5. Reuse one lug hole and 2 holes are close but works fine. MGC hubs for bolt on wheels are 5x4.75 Chevy pattern but rare over here. I have seen them on UK Ebay. It is fairly easy to convert to American Chevy or Ford hubs in front and use American matching narrowed rear. If you do a search on here and Mgexperience, there are lots of ways.
