omni fender flares
I'm getting ready to put omni fender flares on my mgb. Was looking for any advice on the process of connecting the inner fender to flare. Any pictures of the process would be great. I've seen pictures of the flares on the body, but not what they did underneath. How much of the fender and innerfender do you cut off? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: omni fender flares
Lee, give me a day or two & I can post some pics I've collected. I'm about to do mine too... just waiting for the uprights for my IRS to come back from Todd Budde (he's modifying them for me to move my wheels inboard a little bit).

Re: omni fender flares
How much do these widen the car? I'm looking for about 1.5" per wheel.
edit - never mind, the search answered for me. "The omni flares are 3" wide each but when installed on the MG you get about 2 1/4" to 2 1/2" per side due to the angle of the body -- e.g. the flare mounts to the MG higher up on the body curve so you're not starting at the widest part of the body shell. You can probably get a bit more or less depending exactly where you mount them, but not much. " Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/03/2008 11:33AM by Keith. |

Incidentally, there are a couple new/additional snapshots of Omni flares being installed within this article:
