RV 8 fiberglass body pane;s
Guys,
Anyone have a lead on RV 8 fiberglass body panels for SCCA racing ? Anyone ever dealt with a Britisher "John Hill". I hear he has made and sold RV 8 fiberglass body panels. Phillip G |

Hi, Martyn, Contact John Targett. He is one of the advertisers.
Regards, Jack ===== Moderator's note: I just deleted John's e-mail address from this post (because our system is getting abused by spammers). If you need to get in touch with John, please see his ad for contact info. John's ad is in the vendor directory, which you can find under the "contact" pull-down menu button above. Edited 1 time(s). Hi Dave,
Welcome to the BritishV8 message board. Please note that we have a few rules about message contents. This one is particularly important: Quote: We also have some of the most effective and economical advertising options available for vendors in the British car hobby. Here is an overview of them: How to be a BritishV8 Vendor Sponsor Regards, Curtis |

Re: RV 8 fiberglass body pane;s
Hi Curtis. I'd think this sort of an announcement should be acceptable here. Notice he didn't mention any sort of a price, and was giving information of a new product which is in development rather than one which is on the market, a matter of considerable interest to most of us here. It's not for me to say, but I'd draw the line when the item in question actually becomes a "for sale" item or service. Prior to that it really is just news. In this case some rather interesting news at that. In fact, I'd like to see more details such as type of construction and weight. It really looks good Dave. But then, you knew that, didn't you.

Re: RV 8 fiberglass body pane;s
Jim, if he had listed a price I would have deleted the post without a second thought. The post does say that the bonnet is "available". The important point to keep in mind is that BritishV8 can only make ends meet by selling ads. Our ads start at just forty bucks for a full year of precisely-targeted exposure. There's really no better place to advertise if you want to reach people who need a bulge in the center of their MGB bonnet, right?

Re: RV 8 fiberglass body pane;s
I've emailed John about 6 times about an RV8 hood, no luck. :(

Re: RV 8 fiberglass body pane;s
Yeah Curtis, it's a fine line and a judgment call, and you're the man on the spot. I just wonder though if it might not be more productive to lean in the direction of the advertisers and potential advertisers whenever possible and sort of "court" them so to speak. It's a perspective sort of thing, are you losing money because they don't buy an add, or are you getting them used to something they will eventually have to pay for? Luckily for me it's not my choice but I think there's something to be said for the latter approach.
Tim, maybe you could try sending private messages to Brian and Dave using this forum's message system? Worth a shot. Jim |

Re: RV 8 fiberglass body pane;s
I spoke with him on the phone once, then he never got back to me with a price. I'll make one of my own, but those are so cool.
I have the mold of a bulge, but no a good stock hood to graft it to. |

Tim, that's what we did ,took a shot off a bubble and fitted to a steel hood, didn't want to deal with a bunch of shrunk up ill fitting glass.
