What kind of paint are you using, or did use on your ride?
I haven't seen to much posting on paint yet!
I'm real close to picking paint out for my TR6. What kind of paint did you use and why? Here are some of the different kinds of paint out on the market now! 1) UB - Urethane Base / Clear 2) AE - Acrylic Enamel 3) AU - Single Stage Acrylic Urethane 4) PPG DELSTARİ - Acrylic Enamel 5) PPG DELTRONİ - Acrylic Basecoat ....... I'm looking at this one for UV protection + looking at a fine pearl metallic? It could lay better on the shoot? 6) PPG CONCEPTİ - Acrylic Urethane 7) PPG DURACRYLİ - Acrylic Lacquer .....I shot lacquer on my TR250 in the early 80's which I will not do today. 8) AL - Acrylic Lacquer Can anyone shed some light on this subject? |

Re: What kind of paint are you using, or did use on your ride?
I used the urethane base/clear and you're suppose to use a fresh air respirator with it but I shot it outdoors with just a filter mask. Not sure I'd chance doing that again though. Pretty nasty stuff. Once the color coat is shot there wasn't much you could do to touch it up other than start all over. Couldn't sand it for instance. The clear is easy to get runs in because it's harder to see what you're doing. It has to be rubbed out to really look good. I didn't do that. I may repaint it some day, for now it's still good enough. But I do like the way it looks in general and it has held up fairly well.
