waterbased primers/paints for F-glass
My short term memory loss, might be a long term problem ? "Some" tv show said you want waterbased, for F-glass, for a good reason, that escapes me ? I will be needing Hi-build, plus some glass mods. Suggestions ? Thanks, roverman.

My guess would be environmental. Or could be, no chance of chemical reaction with non-compatible solvents.

I'm old school, it may be a green alternative but I would have to see it and use it before saying much about it.Jim may have a valid point ,since if you don't use a lot of wax and grease remover, IE; do several applications BEFORE touching it with sand paper.
Maybe the guys on the show want to jump in with double wet coats immediately, you shouldn't do that when applying normal primers as you could get fisheyes, we always put a light coat on and let it tack up before heavy application. Besides,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I love the smell of VOCs in the morning LOL Dave |

I remember now, it was "Overhaulin" a Lotus Europa, for Jay Leno's soda delivery guy ! Of course this was filmed in CA, where Big Brother is ALWAYS watching/lol. No VOC's allowed, it kills mosquitos-right ? Who's F-glass hi-build do you like ? Cheers, roverman.

Art, we use Duratec products, but feather fil is a good poly primer, spray a couple good coats block with 150 then go with the usual 2 K final sand & paint. There was a couple articles by Charlie ? (Coddingtons old painter) in Rod & custom dealing with water based paints.
