How to paint my power mirrors??

I finally found a compete set of early Miata power mirrors for the MG. The are the wrong color and I will need to paint them. The mirrors and the base are moulded plastic, but obviously I haven't a clue as to what compond. If I were to use the base/clear coat that I will be using for the rest of the car, does anyone have an idea as to how to prep the mirrors so I get good paint adhesion? Type of primer, scratch pattern etc?

Larry paint is an excellent primer so use 600 grit and carefully wet sand the mirrors so as to not remove the original paint. Then prime them the same color as the rest of the car and then paint them along with the rest of the car.
