sebring body kit near completion Posted by: Preform Resources Date: February 26, 2013 05:17PM Wow it's been a long time coming but other than a few details we finally showed our Sebring body kit at the British swap meet in Wheaton Ill., we had the front fenders etc done last year but decided on some changes to the rear fenders and valance, I tried getting everything done before my back surgery but that didn't happen but my mates all helped out to get the display ready, now i've got to go over everything for the V8 meet in Omaha ! Dave

It's going to be great to see these parts on some racecars! Their integrity is so superior to what's been available until now. Dave, do you expect people might buy your rear valance for use in chrome-bumper conversion projects?

Re: sebring body kit near completion Posted by: Preform Resources Date: February 26, 2013 09:01PM Curtis, I definately want to pursue the rubber bumper valance idea, I need a donor car to perfect it on however, so I'm looking for that, I know the race car fanciers like our aero front valances, but we are working on a n old fashioned (read that purist) style Sebring front valance , the big difference will be that it will fit our front fenders and have the the same flush appearance, no fasteners etc visible. Dave, I hear ya, but its taken this long to get where we are, you still have one of the best looking Bs ever ! here's some more development pics;

I built the fenders on this B from scratch and conservatively, there is 30 hours per fender just to get them to this point. The hardest part is getting them to look the same side to side. The rears are extra thick to add some rigidity to the car, but the fronts are almost see thru thin. Right after I finished the front, I found a set of good used front flares for $20 at a swap meet. I bought them and stored them away just in case. Next time I do something like this, I'll just make them from steel on the wheel. No way it would take as long as it did with the glass.

Did you do anything special to strengthen the rear of the GT body when the GRP wings were installed other than beef up the lay-up? I want to do something similar with my car (only subtly flared though, so no massive gap to bridge to the wheel wells!) but do not want the back end to go floppy as an EFI V8 will also be going in! Keep up the great work! David

Re: sebring body kit near completion Posted by: Preform Resources Date: December 31, 2013 04:04PM David, as you can see from Travis' car he has fitted our wheel arch system which closes off the rear arches to the fender panel and takes a minimum of sheetmetal out of the structure, when the inner is bonded in place it lessens any stiffness lost in cutting into the structure. There is no difference between roadster and GT fitment of the rear assy only the front fenders (wings) are different from GT to roadster at the A pillar area.. you could use our wheel arch system even if you are going with narrower flairs. Also Travis car feature our classic SEBRING style front valance with the brake ducts.If you e-mail me I will send more detail pics of our bits Dave
