Just drill out the rivet and re-clock the big gear on the linkage.
Thanks for the decking info. The Lovely Lynne wants a composite deck to bring down the maintenance load. The Ass (that's me) doesn't think that composites are up to the task yet. I'm leaning towards cedar but that's $10,000 or so just in wood! And the debate rages on.... Cheers Fred |

Fred, my dad taught me two lessons when I got married... 1st was to buy lots of extra stuff the 1st time Shelly had me go to the grocery store and the second was "yes dear" for matters related to the house. I'm surprised you don't operate to similar philosophies.

"Yes dear" is the default response in our household. But every once in a while I put my foot down! And become a shining example to men everywhere. That is until my error is amply proven, and then.....Yes dear. And never forget the four words that can get you out of any situation. They are. Oh,... Yeah,... Right,... Sorry. To follow up... I took Fred's advice and rotated the crank mechanism:
The mechanism is now 20 degrees rearward from straight up. That was enough to move the crank arm rearward one inch. However, apparently I wasn't careful enough when I went to weld in my bracket. It's hard to tell now, but the axis of the regulator's rotation must have shifted upward by an eighth of an inch (certainly not more than a quarter inch.) The window rolls up and down just fine, but it's far enough out of proper alignment that the window doesn't sit level. I think I'll try elongating the mounting holes (up and down) and then try to better level the glass. Fussy work. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/19/2014 11:28AM by Moderator. |
