I bought one of these and it is the best jack I have ever used because of the low clearance and also it has a higher lift height then the other ones.

I have one too, but it lacks 1/8" of clearance to slip under my crossmember. I guess I could adjust the coil overs to get an additional 1/8" clearance, or drive on a piece of 1/2" plywood first. I do like the high lift.

I love mine also. I have a mark on top right after the start of the angle up so I know how far to push it in and it puts the pad exactly in the right spot. Lifts higher than any other jack I have owned.

So with new rear springs NOT in the budget, any cheap trick for getting the rear down another inch. Already have a 1 inch lowering block in the back.

Yeah, it's not an aluminum floor jack.

Well I did raise my front end a little and have to admit it did look better where it was originally. I did get the exhaust ground clearance I was looking for so I am going to leave it for now. I expect the car will settle a little once I drive it so I will see if it lowers a bit. I also want to drive over some speed bumps and see how much clearance I really have.

FYI, if you need to raise your MGB front end, I used these Triumph spacers from Goodparts
[www.goodparts.com]

Order the rear spacers and they fit perfectly in the MGB springs and spring pockets. They do raise an MGB more than advertised. I ordered the 1/2 spacer, which raises a Triumph 7/8 and it looks like my front end came up about 1 1/4 to 1 1/5 inch.

With the car now mechanically sorted out and driving, its time to get back to this project. The flares were bonded to the car using West Systems epoxy and pop rivets to hold them in place while the adhesive dries. Then the rivets were ground flush. After that set up for a couple of weeks, I began applying a layer of fiberglass filler to blend the flares to the body.

Here's a few pics of the slow progress:
