Road race a Muncie- M22 ?

I've "heard", must replace the "bushings" inside to needle bearings. Anybody know of this ? I'll be running a "close ratio",(shorter tracks). It has smaller output shaft,adequate. Thanks, roverman.

Bill Wanrer's #4 Group 44 TR8 Runs a 4-Speed Muncie type in place of a Rover 5 Speed. I have some pictures of the tranny in the car but dont know much more about it.
