Race Cars and Motorsports

Detailed articles about Historic Formula One cars are especially difficult to write. You want to be accurate and insightful, and you hope to add something new the genre. The cars are complex. Much of what has previously been published about them is both vague and inaccurate. My local library has no books on the subject, and the best books are all long out of print and becoming expensive if you can find them. From where I'm standing, the learning curve looks like a cliff and I'm at the bottom of it. However, I'm feeling pretty good about how THIS article turned out:

I saw this car at the Lime Rock Heritage Festival this year. It was very well presented and it was great to see some of the F1 cars of this era race again. LRP doesn't really allow the F1 cars to stretch their legs like the Glen, but they still make some wonderful sounds.

Classic F1 car, indeed. It is good to see this kind of treasure run in this generation. It goes to show how far F1 cars have come and how today's cars are molded and enhanced in the likes of their predecessors. Thanks for sharing the article. Ah yes , the March cars were called kit cars back then, no great hoops to jump thru to play FI, buy a March chassis and the engine of your choice (usually DFV ) a Hewland gearbox and away you go, nowadays you have to have the equivalent of a small country's GDP to play FI !
