The Prettiest Formula Ford?
The Russell Alexis design was commissioned by Jim Russell, who wanted two things out of it: (a) a solid, reliable and car for use in his famous driving schools, and (b) an entry-level "real racecar" he could sell to his schools' new graduates. The resulting model is credited as the first truly new chassis designed for the brand new Formula Ford racing class, and it's the model that won the most races and also the British championship of 1968. After Jim Russell and Alexis parted ways, Alexis announced its replacement (their "Mk15") and the Russell Alexis retrospectively became the "Alexis Mk14".
Although I don't personally have an opinion, I've heard a number of knowledgeable racers refer to the Russell Alexis as the prettiest model of Formula Ford ever produced. Have a look at this new article, and let us hear your opinions! Jeff Snook's Alexis Mk14 Formula Ford Race Car |

Well, guess I'd have to agree. Prejudiced, yes, but... that's what opinions are all about..
