I know some of you have been waiting anxiously... so I've typed-out the autocross results and weigh-in numbers from this year's meet, and uploaded them here: [www.britishv8.org]

Let me know if you see anything that looks like a typo.

I'll revisit this later and add commentary - plus a bunch of photos!

Q: Anybody know what car Artie Clark was driving? I didn't see...

CONGRATULATIONS to all the fast drivers and good sportsmen. THANK YOU to everyone involved in setting up an excellent (challenging!) autocross course and working it. I particularly enjoyed this part of the meet.

Special thanks to Pete for arranging the scales again this year!

Other than not being listed in finishing order? The non-British cars, SOBs (Some Other Brand), do need to be listed after all the British cars.

What's the point, Carl?

For some reason, I thought the fellow driving the I4 was faster than I was. Well, since thats not true, I really want to go for blood next time Carl and I meet. Don't tell him that though. He said something about an old anti-sway bar that I want to get from him first. ;-)

Also, I was convinced somehow that the 205 series autocross rubber would not warm up in time that he had on his car but between having 5 year old 185 series autocross tires for the run on my car compared to Carl's 205 series with the other improvements, I feel that we may have a chance to gain on him.

Another thought:
Jon lost to me... On stopwatch by less than half second but none the less, I win- I win! Nah Nah Jon- I beat you!!!

His 924 Porsche with the I4 with the IRS would blow away my Dad's MGB (Dad or myself driving) which is set up much like Carl's car but with the 185 series rubber that I ran out on this course. A very big difference on just about any track. Now that he has that knuckle dragger engine in his car and can only go straight, this is going to be a breeze. I guess we do need to go out to the track this year again so I can show him up more. Laugh-Snort!

Ahhh! the sweet sound of sibling rivalry. LOL
I was quite impressed with everyone's preformance. For such a tight course where the big V8s don't get to really show off their muscle they all handled very well and did nice times. Still, so much is driver ability as shown by several of the competitors. I'll need to get in a lot more seat time in the Midget before I will ever become competitive with you guys. Maybe I'll get a chance to try next year in NC.

Tight course, but it woke up the interest in autocrossing again for me! I wouldn't mind sneeking into the drivers seat of a bugeye sprite with something that tight... dangit my dad needs to get his bugeye back on the road :-)

Just to clear things up. My tires are track day tires that are 3+ years old and are not generally considered to be very good autox tires because they do need a good hot lap on a road course to get up to temp (like Nelson Ledges 2 mile track). They felt pretty cold & greasy in the parking lot autox.

The Kumhos are much better tires for autox when in good condition. ;)

Yup, I didn't know what they would do or what ours would do. I was very impressed with both. I think that I will go for a set of 205 series after seeing how your car does, but have to start with a set of street tires first- and wheels. These all going on next year when the 5 lug system is ready to go and we can hopefully afford to place some of the money in that direction. I would love 215 series for the street tires but don't want to touch the bodywork either.

Did any of you guys get a nice photo of Bob Kaul's TR3A? Somehow I missed photographing it...

Curtis, do you think maybe you could add the weights of the Roadmaster to those results? It was pretty impressive I think, considering.

It's there already... at the end of the list of MG's and before the first Triumph.

Ah, so it is! Still some weight to be added, but that is with seats anyway. Anybody care to guess what it'll weigh when it's done? Maybe we should have a raffle.
