I want to see some pictures of British Cars drag racing. Post them here, guys!

I'll get the ball rolling. This car will appear in the upcoming edition of BritishV8:

MuscleSprout.jpg

In case you're wondering, the engine in this Sprite is a 2.6L Alfa Romeo straight six.

Lots and LOTS of photos can be seen here:

Unbelieveable stuff!! I had NO idea this was this popular. One of the guys here in the shop picked up a Bugeye bodyshell from us and he plans to make this a Gasser, Real neat ideas. Not something I would do, but something I have respect for- low budget, run what you brung 1960ish era stuff that you run parts from everything including solid front axles and so on. I have only gone through the first 5 pages and you can see MGs, Healeys, Spridgets, Opel GTs, and a number of fibreglass bodies. Neat stuff if you like going in straight lines with lots of back door engineering kind of appearance.

-BMC.

Ed,

I think if we had access to a drag strip at one of our future meets, you would SMOKE the playing field.

That's a killer time, must have been a big adrenalin rush to turn a time like that. I hope your chute works well.

By the way, what did you finally do for end results on your front hub for bolting different rims?

Calvin

Rules say I need to have the parachute over 150 mph but I haven't used it yet. Never did anything with the hubs, maybe next year, good thing TR6's have good front brakes, with the drilled and slotted rotors and the Hawk pads I make lots of dust hauling down from 150+ LOL

This just in...

Another cool "BritishV8" drag-racer that's almost ready to be added to our photo gallery!

The sign says:
- Force equals Mass times Acceleration (which is Newton's 2nd law of motion),
- 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds,
- 0-117 mph in 12.2 seconds (standing qtr mile).

Thats it... I need to get white and blue lab coats for everyone in the shop. I guess that is the way they did it over at Morris cars in some sections according to one guy who was there in the 1960's.

Curtis, time to enlarge those pictures, figure out those telephone numbers and see how many will still answer the same as what they were. That said, they can't spell Healey correct, so I don't know how much I would trust them to remember! :-)
