Re: Ford V10
I think bore to stroke ratio is usually a good indicator. Whereas all variants of Dodge’s Viper V10 were “over square”, meaning bore larger than stroke, the Ford V10’s stroke is more than 17% greater than its bore. That’s quite a lot! So think about all the implications of that. Bonus: Dodge’s V10 had an aluminum block. I didn’t look hard for credible weights to compare. And I haven’t worked with either engine… but surely the Dodge seems more promising. What is it you like about the Ford?

Re: Ford V10
Well, I consulted with people who ARE familiar with this engine. Ask Jim B. about his bore/ stroke ratio ? Wpuld you rather performance test against my F250? @ about 6k lbs o

Re: Ford V10
A Detroit DD15 is a wonderful engine and has enough torque to rotate a planet… but you wouldn’t put one in any sort of sports car.

Re: Ford V10
At 70mph, my V10 is spinning about 1,900 rpm, Back in the day, so-called truck testers said it would zero to sixty in :"8-10"sec's./lol/ What is not to like, say compared toa V12 ? A. dirt cheap .Lighter, Impressive street vs. hp. curve. I could tell you the cars/trucks I beat but you would be compelled to call me a liar !
Speed Kills, look at the cars morticians drive ? |
