i found a bronco oil pan and a ford van oil pan not a double hump pan 302 motor do i still need to notch x member thanks barry

This pic may help -- that's a double hump pan & you can see it's the front hump that requires clearancing the cross member. If the bronco pan is the same depth @ the front, it'll need the cross member notch. If it's deeper it probably won't work (would require you to notch it too much). I can't imagine it's any shallower because that's where the oil pickup is.
