Re: Heater valve for TR7
Hey Paul, I just had a look at my tr8. It doesn't use a heater valve. Are you sure that you need one? The temp is controlled by two flaps in the heater box. Maybe you just have a broken linkage or something like that. If you do need a valve just order up one for an early VW golf. They're cheap, fit easily, they're cheap, they accept a cable and oh yeah they're cheap.
Hope that helps. Cheers Fred |

Re: Heater valve for TR7
There is supposed to be a volvo valve that is a direct replacement. Before I knew about that I adapted a 4 seasons valve but it doesn't have the temp control bulb and I had to make parts.Someone on here may have the part number or maybe find it at triumphtr7. Supposed to be available through NAPA.
JB Oh, here's the info: [www.forum.triumphtr7.com] bottom of the page. |

Re: Heater valve for TR7
The TR7s & TR8s that have AC have a heater/coolant control valve. The Non AC cars do not. There is a cross over and when you find one they are a major pain in the butt to replace. Some go as far as taking the dash out so the can get to the top side of the valve to drill out the 2 rivots. Others have put a hose bypassing the valve and put a valve up in the engine bay to let coolant flow when they need heat.

Re: Heater valve for TR7
The temp compensating Volvo valve is no longer available. The conversion kit from Volvo actually consists of a VW style valve and some hoses. The kit is around $90.00 the valve alone is about $15.00

Re: Heater valve for TR7
Thanks for that Dan. I should have thought to check as I deal with IPD often.
