Started a rb25 Nissan straight 6 install in my TR6
Engine is a non-turbo 2500cc 24 valve with VVT.
Engine is just sitting on a couple of plates, one under the trans. and one under the oil pan. But its all lined up to make mounts. Shifter will be a little goofy because its about 10 or so inches rearward from stock. Took about 3" off the front of the drive shaft tunnel, put a big hole in the firewall and took the top rear portion off the cross member, about and inch each way to make a 45 degree. Stock exhaust header may be a issue. Lots of work to go, but its in there. |

Sounds like a pretty interesting project.
Go to this link and scroll down [forum.britishv8.org] You will see what this guy did with his shifter, maybe you can do something similar. We need pictures!!! Cheers Byron |

As far as moving the shifter forward goes ,Check Mark Sawatsky build in Project Journals V12 MGB GT Partone Aug 16 2010. He has an ingenious solution. Hey Byron check this guy out .All of his work is something else!

You know about this?
[www.schradersspeedandstyle.com] Not the same engine, but may be some useful pointers. It was offered for sale but unsold several times, whether it is still available you'd have to ask. Ivor |
Re: Started a rb25 Nissan straight 6 install in my TR6
Thanks for the responses, that shifter relocation looks pretty sweet and the pictures of the RB25 in a TR6 are helpful. My engine is the same outside as the turbo RB25, just without the turbo, didn't want the turbo. This swap should make for a real nice driver and not needing to reinforce the whole car because of a bunch of HP should make for a faster and easier swap.
I saw the TR6 RB25 pictures in the past but looking at them now I see a few things I will try and do different. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/14/2015 12:40PM by v869tr6. |
