I'm trying to find out what my flywheel fits. It's 14" across, 166 teeth and has a larger index hole than a Buick 300-350 or Buick 430/455 etc. Could it be for a Buick Nailhead? I cannot find any info. Do all V8 Buick flywheels after a certain point have 166 teeth? This is a nice piece but is worthless if I can't find the proper application. It is a Schiefer model 2711A. Does ANYONE know where I can get more info? Thanks for the help.

I found this on ebay:
[cgi.ebay.com]
For $5 it's yours and you can find out what the flywheel is for.

This fellow says he has a large collection of old speed catalogs 1950-60s 70s If you need to Identify anything write to him with the make and part# : www.oilnspeed.com

Also found some info about Schiefer, the man:

Martin

According to [www.transmissionadapters.com]:

The crankshaft on the ’64 to ’66 has a flywheel locating flange OD of 2.48 inches.
The crankshaft on the ’57 to ’63 has a flywheel locating flange OD of 2.90 inches.

I have a 322 Buick nailhead on an engine stand. There's not much room to
get a measuring tape in there but it appears to have an index hole around
3". Center to center may be close to what you have too. I'll see if I can
get wrenches in there to pop the flexplate off this weekend. The ring gear
on the flexplate is 15" but it's not uncommon for manual and automatic
flywheel/flexplates to be different and require different starters.
I've got an Offy bellhousing adapter for the 322 and an aluminum flywheel
that I thought was supposed to be for the 322 but it appears to have a
flange of 3.175" and is 4" across the bolt holes. The pattern looks just
like yours but the dimensions are different so I'm not sure what it fits now.
