I paid about $20.00 for my 302 .010" over main bearings, I'm no expert on Buick motors but that sounds really excessive to me.

Tristan, did your run a search for 215 Buick and 3.5 Rover bearings? (don't forget ebay) Also any SBB rod bearings will work and mains for some of the other Rover engines. Most suppliers of standard size bearings will also have them in .010, .020 and sometimes .030 undersize. In some cases you may even find + and - increments on the undersizes. You should be able to do better on the prices. However for both rod and mains $200 isn't completely outrageous. Seems high to me, but prices have been going up and for premium quality it could be within reason.

Jim

yea, I think D&D wants to sell conversions, and not parts. I agree with checking ebay, you never know. I'm sure that persistence will pay off for you.

I ran across this, probably not yours, but looks like a good place to ask

Check out these guys,

Rock Auto prices are usually very competitive. I don't know why the prices for BOPR mains are so high.

HTH,

I guess the majority of people using 215's are MG owners and they see us coming :-)

80's 265 and 301 Pontiac are the same rod bearings as 215/3.5 Rover. Also 300/340/350 Buick. Found much cheaper at your corner parts store. The main bearings best deals are on EBay.

I saw some there, but didn't post them, because I'm not that familiar with everything that will fit the engine.

I like King bearings and you can't beat these prices at Summit. I'd look up their rod bearing prices also.
