Thanks for the photos, that is the type of filter housing that is needed with a screw-on filter pointed downwards. The heat exchanger may be the same. We haven't disassembled it yet. That looks like a gasoline engine? I think that and the trans are the only real issues. Matt will have to sell the MG overdrive trans before he will have the funds to buy one of those transmissions. Anyone know what an MG overdrive 4speed goes for these days ('74)?

Jim,both of those pictured engines are gasoline.any gasoline or diesel oil filter housing will bolt on on to the every block.transverse mounted engines has oil housing pointed down,longitudinal bit sideways.just make sure they are turbocharged because you need oil feed from them.
