Rick, Bill, anyone... do you guys know about what time the group will be in Lincoln on wednesday? I want to run up and maybe meet you at lunch and for the museum.
Still no autocross, right? Thanks! |

Re: British V8/V6 2013
I attended the parking lot session yesterday (Tues.), and must extend my heartfelt thanks to all I spoke to (and to those I didn't). Everyone was very helpful with my questions. As a first time builder, I am my own worst critic, but the creativity of these cars and the willingness to share information and ideas is very encouraging. A special thanks to Paul Schils (and Mary), Larry Shimp, Calvin Grannis, Jim and Dan Blackwood and Curtis Jacobsen for their willingness to share. These are the few names I recorded in my scribbles, but also a thanks to every owner who brought a car. Now I must reread every how-it-was-done article to ensure I have not missed any good ideas. I hope to produce a TR6 to add to the mix in the near future. Now-out to the shop with me!

Re: British V8/V6 2013
It'll be awhile before I get my photos all sorted out
In the meantime, I thought I'd post a snapshot of a favorite car from this meet: Don Bonar's restored numbers-matching 1935 MG PA (What fun!!!) You just never know what cool things you'll see, do, and learn at a BritishV8 meet. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/13/2013 02:48AM by Moderator. |

Not home, yet. Had to stop after 800 miles. Stayed up waaay too late on the last night before the travel day, again.
I agree, Calvin. I wanted one more day, too! |

Checked into the Richmond Va. motel at 2 am Omaha time after a 20 hour drive. Wasn't that bad really. I'll try to post some photos of the JCNA event while I'm here.

Re: British V8/V6 2013
Jay Smith was kind enough to send this series of videos to us via email! Jay was standing on the drag strip side getting these videos on the long straight away with his blackberry phone. We were hitting 130 + before shutting down way before the brake numbers on the side of the track. Ken Hiebert and I were having some fun track time together out there. 1st time for me to be out on a track and it was an adrenalin rush. It was great to learn more about our cars that we built!!
Enjoy!! [www.youtube.com] Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/14/2013 08:44AM by 74ls1tr6. |

Re: British V8/V6 2013
Got home at noon today with a tripometer register of 2103 miles......worst part of the return trip was negotiating Chicago traffic yesterday afternoon with a low-load carburetor stumble...makes for crappy motoring!......I suspect the power valve has seen better days and requires an investigation.
Took lots of photos and will post a few when I recover from the week's activity. |
