Re: 4.020-inch Bore
Art...........AMEN!
Now put this one in perspective! My project is a TR8 coupe that is 1 of 158 built. I am taking it down to a shell. Welding the seams and a roll cage. Reinforcing suspension connection points and opening up the wheel arches and screwing on fender flares and a spoiler. Oh and drilling holes for all kinds of neat gadgets! So the TR8 purist upon finding this out were a little puzzled. Yes there are TR8 purist and well what is considered modified TR8 which do all bolt on/in changes. I got the why not just convert a TR7 to TR8 specifications and build a rally car! My answer was I only see a TR8 in my garage. Why convert a TR7 to a TR8 and carry the badges as a TR8 when the same guys who look at me like I have a hole in my head will say.....well its a conversion and not a real TR8. Dammed if you do and dammed if you don't! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/14/2009 06:25PM by WedgeWorks1. |

Bjorn, I call that poetic justice. "They" seriously twisted my serious roller cam", thread into a fat rope! Mike, If you would, "just spill the beans", we could all get back to our nominal level of sanity?? What say buddy?, u-no, "the needs of the many"? roverman.

Re: 4.020-inch Bore
Hey Art, I bet you could take some weight out of that roller cam and make the engine a little lighter. Wonder how much trouble it'd be to run a hole down the middle of it? Come to think of it, with your Rotus heads you might save a whole lot of weight that way.

Jim,Nik, whom-ever... I guess we're not "jacking",(not same as stroking-Nic) this thread, since we be-speakin,Bores? Actually, 907 cam do have hole,(long-one), jus' not as big as you would like, fellas. True to form, I'm considering, "alternative" material? "It's only too lite when you can't get it down"- Dorothy.

Re: 4.020-inch Bore
They're Ford 4.6 sleeves. Just to pitch a guess in here. Regardless of what Mike is doing, are the 4.6 sleeves flanged? The length has got to be right. Maybe a less pricey option than importing from UK.

Re: 4.020-inch Bore
Nic, I might be on a frayed-thread here? You're sayin Mike is using Ford 4.6L Flanged liners for a 4.02" bore? Nic, He's got duct tape over his mouth! How you gonna set the hook with that "W.A.S." ? roverman.

Re: 4.020-inch Bore
4.6 flanged liners wouldn't happen anyway because they're 3.7" at their largest... Maybe LS sleeves would work? I'm having trouble finding them for sale anywhere.
