That was by design, Wayne. He's gettin' too old for full throttle. ;)

Update, September 26, 2012
After three days in Omaha I think that we have a host hotel nailed down, still negotiating on some room rates but hope we can get a bit more of a discount for the last night. Hampton inn as in Palestine. Location near a lot of restaurants for us to try and fairly convient to the highways to get to both the race track, kart track, and Lincoln for the Speedway Museum. Still trying to get a shop tour of a local race shop, they were still out of town with their customers after the SCCA run offs. We'll get more information posted as soon as we get contracts in place, but we already have the indoor karting signed up for a solid three hour session all to ourselves. Hope we can get some of the great teams from Indy back together for some racing again.
The road course at Mid American Motorplex is great, very flat with almost nothing to run into if you somehow get off the track except off into a soybean field. 2.3 miles long, it should be fast and yet safe for us all. We'll have the track for about 4 hours so there should be plenty of time for everyone to get in a lot of laps and they do have gas available there at the track if anyone needs to top up. Much smoother than the track at Indy, so handling should be much better as well. Another plus is that with the flat open terrain the entire track is easily visible from the grand stand so watching the action will be great as well.
Hope to have registration informaton posted before the first of the year. Rooms are blocked until 3 weeks before the event, but may be difficult to find after that time as Omaha has both the Little League World Series and the College World Series coming into town starting on the 12th, the last day we will be there. Room rates jump up $50 a night on the 12th, I'm trying to negotiate a break in that for us in consideration that we'll already be there for the three nights previous. Currently the hotel is offering us a rate of $109 per night for the first three nights, down from their normal $129 rate, I'm trying to get them to drop Wedensday night's rate to no more than $129 for us instead of the $179 they will charge new arrivals. Wish us luck.

Sorry for missing your post San, I still haven't received conformation from the hotel, need to contact them for sure this week. I should be the Arbor Plaza location.

Made reservations today. Used the number provided above, and the nice lady on the phone did have the special rate for British V8. Will be arriving Sunday evening, departing Thursday morning. Right now, the plan is to bring Willard on a trailer instead of driving my '79 (Hobbes). Looking forward to it!!
